Spiritual healing goes back to ancient Egyptian and Babylonian civilisations where it was offered during services in temples of Eqypet, Greece and the Orient. In 1000BC Imhotep (an Egyption) become such a well-known healer that he was refferred as the Egyptian God of Healing on his death bed. Snakes wrapped around a staff is a symbol of healing that still is used to this day such as on nurses id. During the 1950s a man named Harry Edwards found he could help people in need by healing them when drugs and orthodox medicine did not cure them. Finally in 1954 Harry Edwards created a national healing organization called the National Federation of Spiritual Healers. The most well- known spiritual healer to this day is conidered to be Jesus.
