"When did the Mexican drug war start?" It started at:
October 22: Drug gang members shoot 16 young people dead at a teenager's birthday party in Ciudad Juarerz, a violence-plagued city across the border from El Paso, Texas.
October 24: Drug gang members attack a drug rehabilitation center in the border city of Tijuana, killing 13 recovering addicts.
October 27: Drug gunmen massacre 15 people at a car wash in the city of Tepic on Mexico's Pacific coast.
October 28: Gunmen kill 6 young men on the street in Mexico City.
October 29: 9 Mexican police officers are shot and killed in an ambush in the state of Jalisco; 5 people are injured in grenade attacks in the city of Guadalajara.
So I'd say it's been going on for 5 days...
