In 1783, as dictated by the Treaty of Paris which document ended the American Revolutionary War,control went back to Spain. In 1819 Spain ceded control to the United States for a sum of money(the amount I do not know). In 1821 Florida became a U.S. territory,and a State on March 3, 1845.
