Problems of the Civil War began to rise before 1850 when the U.S. had plans to form new states. South Carolina seceded in December 1860 and in 1861 the first battle took place. The war lasted 4 years until April 1865 when Lee surrendered to Grant.
Since the American Civil War, there have been 36 General Elections for President of the United States of America.
US Civil War
If you mean the US civil war then the Revolutionary war took place the first.
The US Civil War was fought from 1861 to 1865. The Mexican War was fought from 1846-1848...the FIRST PHOTOGRAPHS ever taken during a war, were taken during the Mexican War; some are images of mounted US Dragoons in New Mexico (US Dragoons were "Mounted Infantrymen").
The US Civil War Battle of Carthage was an early battle in the US Civil War. It took place in Missouri on July 5, 1861. It was a minor battle won by the Confederates.

When Confederate artillery in the Charleston harbor of South Carolina opened fire on Federal Fort Sumter, it caused an almost immediate surrender. This action led directly to the US Civil War, however, the bombardment itself was not necessarily the beginning of the US Civil War. Federal forts had previously been taken by Confederate forces but no armed conflict had taken place. It is safer to say and defend the position that Fort Sumter led to the Civil War, and was not the first battle of that war.
The Confederate States of America.
I can think of three civil wars, so you need to give us a time or place.
