The disaster happened when Bella Swan thought an evil vampire James had her mom so she went to go save her. James did not really have her mom, that was his way of directing her into his trap. James made Bella crash into mirrors of a local dance studio, which cut into her skin. Then he broke her leg and Edward Cullen came in to save Bella, except he was too late and James had already bitten her.
