The Peak District National Park was created in April 1951 - the first of Britain's 15 national parks. The Peak District area has been open and lived in since prehistoric times.
They made it a National Park in 1985 when the World War 2 ended so they thought they would put it i memory of the sucking on poppies (The last poppie in the field).
