1946 It's A Wonderful Life made this quote as part of a conversation between a little girl and her father. The quote is thought to be older than that, but it was never popularly surfaced until the movie.
Angel got his soul for the first time from a gypsy curse after he slaughtered one of their beloved members and her entire family. When he lost it for the second time it was restored by Willow, using the same curse, as a back up in case Buffy failed to kill him. He also lost his soul during the fourth season of Angel, when his friends release Angelus hoping to find information on a mysterious beast. He is once again restored by Willow with the gypsy curse.
