The only people who have actually "Used" an atomic bomb are the "Americans" as in the US of A. and they used 2. The Russians have never 'Used' one and neither have any of the other civilized/advanced nations.
the atomic bomb
Hyroshima
We were the only ones who had it
yes
they first tested it at the trinity sight but used it on the city of Hiroshima
The first atom bomb was the test explosion at the White Sands test range in New Mexico. The first use in anger was at Hiroshima in Japan.
None. Ships where not used. It was a B-29 named the Enola Gay that dropped the first atomic bomb. The second one, also a B-29, that dropped the bomb on Nagasaki, is called Bockscar. The planes where the first ones to use Atomic weapons in war.
FDR ordered its development.Truman ordered its use.
because they wanted to use it for world war 2
Franklin Roosevelt- but he died before the atomic bomb was used. Harry Truman was the next president, and ordered the use of the atomic bomb.
One source stated that "Truman's Folly" was the Korean War. This may have been in reference to Truman's policy of "not fighting to win", which meant NOT USING THE "BOMB". US Military men who had WON World War Two, used any means available to do it; including the use of "the bomb" (Atomic Bomb). These same men wanted to use it again. The Soviets (Russians) had exploded (tested) their first A-Bomb in 1949; by the time of the Korean War in 1950, the Soviets now had "the bomb." President Truman had the foresight to realize that the world was now in the ATOMIC AGE, and that an Atomic War was not good...for anyone. Some of our military men where abit more traditional...and it took abit longer for the "Mutually Assured Destruction" mentality to sink into their minds. Translation: Truman was correct in not turning Korea into a nuclear war; but he may have been tagged with "Truman's Folly" because of it.
