For the most part they have already stopped making the PS2 games except when they make a PS2 version along with a group of games for most of the other consoles. I do not know when the last PS2 exclusive was made, but I have not found one in 2011. Most Game Developers have stopped even these concurrent releases for the PS2
They have a vast surplus of new PS2 titles filling the retail and wholesale locations and they might never be completely sold out of new PS2 games even if they are leftover from 2008 through 2010 releases.
The supply of used PS2 games is so great that S/H at Ebay is often higher than the individual games selling price and lot sales are common.
They are not going to stop making ps2 games because not all people can afford the ps3 or wii or Xbox 360
When stores are no longer willing to stock them and would rather put something else like more PS3 game titles in there place
The have virtually stopped making any PS2 exclusive games and only still make a PS2 version for a few sports games along with the other platforms being released when they release the PS2 game. They are really only adding a PS2 version to the release and recently less have been doing so. They still may continue to reissue games already produced. There is no shortage of new games available for sale millions are available in new condition and there are over 1.51 billion used copies of PS2 titles already sold for the 151 million PS2s that have been sold. There just are fewer newly developed PS2 titles than ever before.
They stopped making PS2 exclusive games, but PS2 version games are still being released sometimes with the games for other platforms
FIFA Soccer 12 for the PS2 was released on September 27 2011 so at least one game is still being released for the system even if WWE 12 choose not to release a PS2 game for the new series
That depends on the demand of new games for PS2... however, that could be never... or until the PS3 becomes a bigger thing.
It depends on the games, i would go to Game Stop and get an estimate, they buy games.
It is no longer big business to sell the PS2 games. Companies that make PS2 games for profit no longer make exclusive PS2 games and they are the first console that the company decides to stop making in a series like the FIFA Soccer 12 that still has a PS2 version. Websites for places like Gamestop and Amazon no longer have a PS2 link on the top of the page
there arent really any games that are affected by the slimline PS2. however the earlier models have shown that they stop paying blue/purple disks after a while but these are with the first models released by sony and will not happen with a slimline. hope I helped John
No a PS2 can not play PSP games
Yes the Original 4 USB port PS3 does play PS2 games, but they stopped making those models way before the Slim PS3 was released
they have almost stopped for the PS2
Games have slowed to a trickle already for the PS2 compared with PS3 releases. That is because some have already stopped finding, it less profitable to continue making new PS2 game versions with the games for PS3 and Xbox 360
Yes it will they will stop making ps2 games in 2009 or 2010 If you have a ps2 you should upgrade to ps3 for xbox360.
Because they are making them for the PSP and Nintendo Wii in 2009
There is 5000 games in ps2 console and they are still making games
no, theres not. sony is gonna stop making ps2 games next year (2008). so madden 08 is the latest one for it.
i heard sony is gonna stop making ps2 in Jan 2010 is that true?No there are games being released this year, but many less than in years past.
The number of new games for both systems has already decreased, but they will continue as long as there is a profitable market.
If you mean will they stop making them they have not yet stopped making the consoles and the games have slowed down but there are still a few releases. There are quite a few titles already available and a huge number of unsold games that are in warehouses and on retail shelves. Of course the PS2 and the PS3 will end making games and the unnamed unreleased system after that also
it may not be. only because it is being made for the PS3. they are eventually going to stop making PS2 games and only have PS3 games...so they are going to do what works best for them and make it for the PS3
Hell yes, its like saying will they keep producing ps1 and ps2 games...
Yes some Video Game series still are making PS2 game versions with the other versions of game consoles being released. No one is making PS2 exclusive games for release or releasing existing games in a PS2 format
