Our 25+ year old buckeye tree starts dropping its fruit in late August, and continues through most of September. The tree was planted by us from a seedling our daughter brought home from The Ohio State University in the early 80's. We reside in the Dayton, Ohio, area. (dtd. 9/16/09)
If as I think they are the Buckeye is the chestnut then you have a problem chestnuts drop their leaves in the Autumn.
