Kittens get milk from the mom immediately. They move away from their mom for short periods between 4-6 weeks. By 6-8 weeks they can be taken away from their mom, such as for adoption. Kittens should be weaned before that time. Moms do weaning.

Should the kittens at eight weeks still feed off mum?

Kittens can nurse all the way to 10 weeks. Don't worry-- mom cat will soon make it clear that the milk bar is closed. She will get up, step over and away from them, avoid them, snarl and even swat at them. Be sure you have wet mash set out for the kittens (or dry kitten food if they are already eating). Mom will teach them to eat solid food.

What color kittens do you get if you mate a male orange cat and a black female?

Siamese have pale bodies with darker colored points on the face, legs, feet and tail. All Siamese kittens are light-colored at birth and develop the pattern over time. The color of Siamese mixed breed kittens will depend partly on the sire's breed. My Siamese had five kittens, two had the same markings as the mama cat, one pure black, and two black and white ones.
