When will a positive pregnancy test show?

Over the counter pregnancy test will have the information you need. Each brand have specific info and if you not sure with your results, have a second test for assurance. Some of the newest ones can show positive 3 days before a missed period, so 11 days after ovulation.

A serum (blood) hCG will show positive about four days after implantation, at the time a zygote officially becomes an embryo, a urine hCG takes about 3 more days to show positive - which corresponds to your period being 7 days late.

hCG is THE hormone marker for human pregnancy, it starts rising with implantation, doubling every two to three days - the "normal level" varies greatly from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy, so what the level is, is not greatly important as long as it continues rising for the first trimester.
