The BBC documentary 'Life' in their episode "Reptiles and Amphibians" showcased a group of Komodo dragons bringing down a water buffalo during the dry season, but it took days for the venom to finally drop the animal. Though they initially bit him first during the day, the buffalo didn't die until the night many days later.
