Tomato's are normally grown in from Spring through Autumn. The month of production depends where you are in the world.
From a purchase perspective though, most countries have tomato's available throughout the year (as they can be imported), although the price may vary according to the amount of production and seasonality.
When you pick tomatoes depends on two things - type of tomato and how you wish to use it. For example, the larger varieties of red tomatoes, such as Big Boy or Beefmaster are great picked while they are still green (but not totally firm) for slicing and frying. For typical uses, the red tomatoes should be picked when they are slightly soft, bright red, and have a nice "tomato-y" smell. Red cherry tomatoes can be picked anytime they are fully red to when they "pick themselves" and fall to the ground. Yellow and pink varieties are similar, but obviously their colors are different.
They usually ripen from mid summer to early autumn.
It is best to harvest your tomatoes before they are fully colored. If you wait till their color is fully developed the flesh will start turning soft.

harvest of what?
The best time would be when it is middle-aged because if you harvest it too early, you wont get enough lettuce, and if you harvest it too late, it will have flowers, and you will get less leaves, and they will be rough.
It depends on the location and variety of plum, but most are ready to harvest after mid-summer. The plums will become soft to the touch and the it will be sweet to taste. They can be harvested early and left to ripen on the counter.
Plums grow best in areas where rainfall occasionally falls during the summer and the humidity stays low. Dry leaves and fruit during the growing season discourage plant disease. Most plant diseases attack plum trees when the weather is wet for an extended period of time. Plum trees are temperate fruit trees and need chilling to produce fruit. Basically, chilling hours breaks down into how many hours after the leaves fall off the plum trees are the trees exposed to 45 degree Fahrenheit or low temperatures during the winter. In cold winter areas, this is not an issue, but in mild winter locations it can prevent the developing of a yearly plum crop. Picking plum tree varieties with low chilling hours helps with producing a successful harvest.
