Veteran's Day is commemorated on November 11. In the 1950's and 1960's it was called Armistice Day because that was the day that World War I ended. Officially the war ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.
Sometime in the 70's, I think, Armistice Day was renamed Veteran's Day.
