As you posted the question in Chrysler, Toyota, and Honda categories and then only abbreviated the model it is hard to know exactly the model you are referring to. If you are referring to a Chrysler Town & Country or a Toyota Scion TC then neither have a belt but have a chain that should last the life of the engine.
No, it has a timing chain.
Nope! Chain!
All 2AZ-FE engines uses timing chains
The Scion tC has a timing chain and probably won't have to be serviced over the life of the vehicle. The Honda has a belt and a tensioner that will need to be changed every 90,000 miles at a cost of near $500.00. The water pump should be replaced on both with the same mileage. You choose.
it is impossible to pull a 2001 tc because they do not exist. the scion tc line began in 2004.
Line crank shaft pulley timing mark on tc mark on timing belt cover. Look at cam shaft timing belt sprocket and locate the small triangle (not diamond shape) located on the plate attached to the timing sprocket. Referencing the timing sprocket look approximately at 5:00 o'clock under the timing sprocket and locate the other small triangle. Line these 2 marks up. Put timing belt on. Make sure the cam shaft sprocket and crank shaft sprocket do not turn while installing the belt. The crank shaft pulley must be removed in order to get the timing belt on.
Since 2002 almost all toyota vehicles have been equipped with Timing Chains, they are much more reliable, dependable and almost maintenance free. The timing chain should last the life of the car with proper oil levels.
On the dash if the car is equipped with traction control. No all 2001's were.
I have a 96 ford ranger 2.3. On the crank timing, does the mark on the plastic cover TC mean top dead center?
Normally a timing chain will last the life of the engine and is replaced during a complete engine rebuild. No maintenance is normally required.
Yes
Traction Control is off.
