I grew up with this tradition whether it be Irish or not. We believed that if you received a card with the Three Wisemen you would put is over the door way so your house could be blessed with gifts of abundance throughout the upcoming year.

∙ 6y agoChristmas cards and how they may be fashioned over a doorway or other attachment is a local tradition or custom, and not a requirement found in any biblical text. One would need contact a maker of Christmas cards and ask them what customs apply to their Christmas cards. I would think that Christmas cards are no different than any other cards which indicate human feelings for others.
