I was told to wait at least 3 months before trying again. You will also want to get your tubes x-rayed to try and see what may have caused the ectopic pregnancy (something in your tube blocking the fetus from reaching your uterus).

i JUST WENT THROUGH THIS..... A HORRIBLE AND TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE! THE DOCTOR SAID THAT RECOVERY FOR MY SURGERY WOULD BE AT LEAST 4 WEEKS. THAT IS BECAUSE OF THE INCISION HE HAD TO MAKE ON MY ABDOMEN. I HAVE 14 STAPLES AND INNER STITCHES. I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL FOR 4 DAYS. I KNOW THAT WOMEN THAT HAVE SUGERY THE OTHER WAY, NON EMERGENCY WITH A LAPARASOPE CAN GO HOME SOMETIMES THE SAME DAY. I HOPE THIS HELPS ANSWER YOUR QUESTION

It is recommended that you have one week of recovery after the surgery. After the procedure, a following blood test will be done to make sure that the hCG values are reducing. This will confirm that there are no remaining embryonic tissues. Regular ovulation is possible with one ovary or fallopian tube: the other ovary ovulating twice as frequently.

it depends on the severity of your case, if you had to get a surgery it can possibly take 4-6 weeks for your body to be well again. If you just had the shot it may take as short as 2 weeks. You should judge based on how heavily you are bleeding and if you have any stomach pains. If you are still facing pain it could mean the shot was no a success and you should go back to the hospital. It is highly recommended to wait 4 weeks before you proceed to having sex again for an infection can develop

The sooner it is medically removed the better. Ectopic pregnancies are very dangerous indeed.
