I visited the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum at Dulles Airport in September 2011 and happened to see the fuselage of the He-219 over to the side, almost hidden away. I was surprised to see it as I didn't know it was there. The fuselage and tail looked complete on the outside and the engines and most of the engine nacelles were there. All of it was painted with a black undersurface and a light blue(or green) upper surface with dark splotches.

The He-129 "Owl" was the first ever aircraft designed and built as a night fighter. It was a German WW2 twin-engine aircraft that is "similar" in size and shape as the German Dornier Do-17---as a comparison. It had radar for flying and locating Allied aircraft at night. Some had guns that fired vertically so they could fly under an Allied bomber and shoot it down.
