The James Bond film GoldenEye opens with MI6 agents James Bond (007) and Alec Trevelyan (006) infiltrating a Soviet chemical weapons factor in 1986 to destroy it. However, 006 is captured and seemingly executed and 007 is forced to escape in a single-engine plane. The movie then cuts to the opening credits.
Due to the release of GoldenEye 007: Reloaded for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, as well as the upcoming 007 Legends, it seems unlikely that there will be a direct sequel to James Bond 007: Blood Stone.
Yes, 006 betrayed 007 in Goldeneye. Miranda frost betrayed 007 in Die another Day
The 00 stands for "Agent with a license to kill". The 7 is just a serial number. The are more 00 agents out there, some of them are mentioned in the movies, such as 003 and 008, and James Bond happened to be number 7. (006 is the turncoat Alek Trevelyan in Goldeneye.)James Bond is called James Bond 007 because initially he was on a mission to Russia and the ISD code for Russia is 007.
