It is not certain, but from looking at other 2nd versions of pokemon, it took approximently 8-10 years. Although with that pattern, Ruby and Sapphire should have come out 2012 and Emerald 2014. Mabye they are going to do this after X and Y, but, untill they announce it, we could never be sure they even will make a remake.
