The warrant will never expire. The only way to get it taken care of is if a judge will get rid of it.

A criminal warrant does not have a statue of limitations (expiration period). The warrant will remain valid until the named individual voluntarily presents themselves to authorities or is taken into custody.

A search warrant can expire. A reason would have to be given to apply for another. The judge would then determine if another can be issued. If a search warrant has expired then you have the right to refuse them entry.

it doesnt...if there is one on you the sooner you turn yourself in the better off you will be. if you let them catch you you will face a harsher punishment. if you turn yourself they might go a little easier on you. if you have never been in trouble before it my be to your advantage to say you have never been in trouble and you were scared...i know people who have done that and got a pretty easy sentence that could have been a lot worse for instance 30 days instead of 6 years for running

A warrant will stay 'active' as long as it is un-served unless it is either "quashed" or withdrawn.
