When you first get to boot camp, you have to go through the "Receiving Phase" in which you get processed into the Marine Corps. During the receiving phase you get all of the supplies you need during training (i.e. uniforms, boots, soap, razor, etc), fill out all necessary paperwork, males get their first haircut, and take the Initial Strength Test (IST).
Boot camp training officially starts on "Black Friday". This is the day you first meet your Drill Instructors and start Phase One.
