The newest episode was a cliff hanger to lead into Season 9. We see Robin and Barney grow closer together as they attempt to break up an annoying couple. Marshall and Lily are at a crossroads where Lily has a job in Rome and Marshall has been offered a Judge position in New York. Ted is about to meet the woman he would eventually marry and finally tell us How He Met his Kids Mother.
In the Halloween episode of the TV show "How I Met Your Mother," Marshall has made a bet involving a homemade costume with Barney involving Lily's sex dreams. Turtle is Barney's costume for the bet. Barney ultimately loses the bet and has to wear the costume for a year.
They have slept in the same bed before, but they have never actually slept together. After Lily came back to NYC after her split with Marshall she lived in a dumpy apartment. One night she needed a place to stay after there was a problem with the apartment and asked Barney if she could stay with him. They fell asleep watching late night T.V. The next day Barney brought a woman over to stay the night and the next morning Lily came in and the girl thought that Lily was Barney's wife. Barney came up with a plan to get Lily to pretend to be his significant other so she could kick the girls out in the morning. Because his apartment was a typical bachelor pad, they had to pack up the movies of his and bought pillows and other brick-a-brack to make it more believable that a woman lived there.
Both Lily and Rosaleen keep a secret related to Lily's mother. Lily hides the truth about her mother's death, while Rosaleen carries the burden of knowing the circumstances surrounding Lily's mother's death.
Lily Potter's mother remains unnamed. She is a muggle who had two daughters named Petunia and of course Lily.
