All the spirits teach scrooge a lesson
The first of the three Christmas spirits who visits Scrooge is the Ghost of Christmas Past. This spirit takes Scrooge on a journey through his past to help him reflect on his life choices and actions.
Marley tells Scrooge to expect three more spirits to visit him that night.

Marley tells Scrooge that he will be visited by three spirits throughout the night. These spirits are the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. They will each show Scrooge visions to help him reflect on his life and change his ways.
To show scrooge issues he encountered in his past
They visited him to attempt to give him a vison of his past, his current life and finally what could will should he not make changes to his life

They taught him to be kind to people and not to be selfish
Yes, Scrooge seems to care about money and nothing else until he is visited by the three Spirits.
Before the spirits visit, Scrooge is a wealthy but miserly and unkind businessman who hoards his money and refuses to help others in need. He is cold-hearted, selfish, and uncompassionate towards those around him.
