Friends was filmed using 16mm film and standard definition video. There is no HD archive of the program because HD wasn't around when the program was being produced.
Although a Bluray version will probably become available in the future, the resolution will remain SD even though it has been stored in an HD format. No doubt, the mastering will include some enhancements to improve the apparent quality but don't expect a Bluray version of the program to rival genuine HD content.
It is likely that Friends and other programs from the same era are some way down the Bluray release list.
