When this kinda issue occurred on your device then please download the original shareit app visiting shareitdownload.info and please check if there is a process named "shareit.exe" in Windows task manager. then kill "shareit.exe" in task mgr manually, then reopen shareit download app. thanks

If memory serves, backup and restore in vista requires the RPC process to be running, which doesn't run in safe mode. Your best bet is to reinstall Vista, get it up and running in "normal" mode, then do your restore.
