Men go to work and earn money women do the household tasks sons bring education to the family and the daughter does the same
why are sons more important. Traditionally, men work so that they can take care of the family. Women did not work so they couldn't provide for the family economically. That part is true. When the parents grow old it is the son's responsibility to take care of them. It is always falls on the first born son. That is is why in the past families has such huge families is because they want a son to be born into the family so the parents can be taken care of by the sons. When daughters are old enough they will get married. They will have to take care of their husband's family. There would not be enough time to take care of both sides of the family.

Depends. In some places, like India, sons are generally held to be more important than daughters. The sons are expected to take care of the parents as they get old, so sheer self-preservation makes people put more value on sons. With not much of a pension plan going, old age survival has to be managed in the family. When a daughter marries, she becomes a part of her husband's family, so she can't do much for her parents anymore. China also has a preference for sons, but not as hard as in India. But sons are the ones that carry the family name further(women give theirs up when they marry) which makes them more important. The men are also traditionally seen as the ones who work and earn money, which also boosts their importance. In countries where men/women are more equal, sons/daughters also gets valued more equally.
