It's in Red Box now!
"The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" opened with a very low theater count and made only about 130,000 dollars. The film's world premiere was during the 62nd Cannes Film Festival, out of competition. The UK release of the film was scheduled for 6 June 2009 but pushed back to 16 October 2009 due to its successful premiere at Cannes. The film was given a limited release in the US on Christmas Day 2009 and a nationwide expansion on 8 January 2010.
imaginarium of Doctor Parnassum Most people seem to think that Heath Ledger's final film was The Dark Knight. However, it was actually The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus. The director almost tried to salvage it.
The movie opened in wide release on January 9, 2010. In a limited number of cities, it could be seen on December 25, 2009.
It looks like no date has been officially announced for wide release (it's currently showing only in N.Y.C. and L.A.), but you can check http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1054606/cinemashowtimes periodically, and keep your fingers crossed! It played at Cannes Film Festival in May, and is scheduled for release in Argentina January 5th, so hopefully those of us outside the very limited release area won't have to wait too long. . .
New episodes of Doctor Who will begin airing in the Fall of 2012 in the UK and the US.
