No, Godzilla and Gamera never did or never will fight each other due to copy right laws. Godzilla is Toho, and Gamera is Daei. It could only happen if Toho buys Gamera off of Daei. Or the other way around. But during the 60`s and 70`s, Daei repentantly asked Toho for Gamera to fight Godzilla, but have Gamera kill Godzilla, and have the Godzilla series end for GOOD. But Toho wouldnt agree. But, in the year, 1995 Daei asked again, Toho agreed but they scrapped it. But, Godzilla vs. Destroyah and Gamera Guardian of the Universe were made instead of Godzilla vs. Gamera.
Why is Toho so big on the copyrights of Godzilla?

OK Scrap everything that previous person has said underneath this they clearly don't know what there talking about ,legendary pictures have gained rights to produce a more "accurate" version of Godzilla slated for release mid 2011, There is no news about toho yet but in 2014 it will be the 60th anniversary of Godzilla they might release a film such as they did with Godzilla : Final wars in 2004 Godzilla's 50th anniversary. they are not going to release a film called "kiryu" they killed him off in Godzilla Tokyo S.O.S . and it would be stupid if they released a film about MECHA-GODZILLA without Godzilla in the plot . anyway toho has already started to bring back the monster star he just made a cameo in sunset always on third street 2 its a short dreams scene and like cloverfield it focuses more on the people than the monster but we see Godzilla and he was all CG and it was pretty well done and glad to see him make a return so soon =) hope this helpsGodzilla's 50th anniversary was 2004 along with Godzilla: Final Wars; Toho has decided to have a new interest in the future, possibly returning with a new film in 2013 or 2014 as Godzilla's 59th or 60th anniversary.There is one coning to theaters in April 15, 2010. Toho Studios LTD has not at this time announced any plans toward making an installment in the Godzilla series pitting him against Bagan. Originally Bagan was a combination of three monsters that was supposed to take on Godzilla in "Godzilla 1985" and/or a movie that never saw the light of day "Godzilla Vs. The Devil". Bagan was an invincible monster with three horns who was almost like a changeling. Later, the monster was planned for the movie "Godzilla vs. Mothra" (1992) but Battra replaced Bagan. Bagan was once again upstaged in 1995 being replaced by Destroyer. The only place in which Bagan may be seen is "Super Godzilla" He is the final boss. But who knows, perhaps when Toho revives the series for the fourth (fifth, sixth?) time, Bagan may tear up the silver screen in the future.
