comets can be found at any time in the west two hours after sun set when the sky is dark or in the east a few hours befor sun rise comets can be found at any time it takes a lot of dedecation and time if you know the sky well ul know when uv found a comet you could be lucky one nite

∙ 15y agoWhile comets do return to the inner solar system on a periodic basis, only a small percentage of the comets that appear each year are a:) periodic and b:) have been here in the last few hundred years.
So it's not really possible to "predict" a comet. The next comet to appear could be a hyperbolic comet like Comet Lulin, which will never return, or it may be a periodic comet with a period longer than our meager recorded history of about 3,000 years.
In short: new comets are discovered every year. That's why all those amateur astronomers spend their nights trying to find new ones.
