Dalmatian mollies are just cross bred fish. Anything can happen to their colouring because their full parentage is not known.
They may be too crowded. I have heard that mollies need 2-3 gallons per fish. My daughter's male dalmatian Mollie keeps nipping at the female and has killed 2 so far.
Yes most of the time, I'm referring to mollies mating with mollies, guppies mating with guppies, not mollies mating with guppies. I have seen platies and swordtails bred. There is a reason why this can happen. Platys and Swordtails are from the same Genus (Xiphorous) The Swordtail is X. hellerii. The Platty is X. maculatus.
This means the ballon molly will start releasing eggs and the Dalmatian molly will fertilise them. The answer above is incorret really what that means is the mollies are breeding (yes ballon mollies can breed with dalmatian mollies). Mollies are livebrers, so the fry(Babies) are born swimming.
