When will there be a season 3 of The Vampire Diaries?

It is going to PROBABLY come out on Sept 8,2011. they always come out in the fall and the first season was Sept 10 then second season Sept 9 and the last one is mentioned above. Or either its the second Thursday in September usually.

OH, PLEASE, what does season three on vampires mean? Does that mean vampires every afternoon and every night, or perhaps just afternoon vampires? Have they evolved since last month, when they were leaping over tall trees and doing telekinesis when they can't only not spell it, but probably can't spell the "tall trees," either.

L. J. Smith was going to write another Vampire Diaries trilogy called The Hunters: Phantom, to be released in the summer of 2011. The new books were to focus on Elena and her friends in college, hunting supernatural serial killers. It might be written by someone else, but the trilogy's fate is now unknown.

Smith stated in her blog on the 9th of February, 2011 that she was fired by Alloy Entertainment and that 'Midnight' is her last book
