Pictures hiring director Peter Weir.Screenwriters David Arata, D. B. Weiss, and Weir co-wrote the screenplay but in May 2007, Gibson commented on his personal blog that he believed Weir would not be proceeding with the project. In 2014 it was announced that Morten Tyldum had been attached to the project.
