Dutch people travel a lot, so travel around major holidays (Christmas, New Year, easter, etc) can be a bit more difficult, i.e. more expensive, especially if you plan to return the same days locals leave (for instance the days before Christmas)

The tulip/flower season in spring (March-April if the weather is nice) can be a bit busy as well, apart from that just book the flight a few months in advance (2-3 if possible) and you should get the cheapest rates available from the airlines.
