The 60th anniversary of Elizabeth's crowning was on February 6 2012. The Jubilee Bank Holiday will be on June 5 (Next Tuesday)
That is incorrect the 60th anniversary of crowning is not until 2ndJune 2013. The crowning (Coronation) did not take place until the year after her accession to the throne. So this year (2012) is only the 59th anniversary of actual crowning. The reason The Queen does not celebrate the date of her accesssion on the actual date (6th Feb 1952) is that it is also the anniversary of her father's death.
