The committee could not find an evening when everyone's calendar was
open, so that particular event has been dropped from the schedule.
Serious answer: You seem to have made a mistake in the question.
Alternative answer: Zen Buddhists are meditating about this profound question.
Currently there are no asteroids expected to hit Earth in the next 100 years.
Halley's comet is not predicted to hit Earth in the foreseeable future. The next time it will be visible from Earth is in 2061.
There are currently no known asteroids predicted to hit Earth in the near future. Astronomers continuously monitor and track near-Earth objects to assess any potential impact risks, but at this time, there are no imminent threats.
Probably in the next few minutes. Thousands of meteors hit the earth every year. In a typical year there are between 18,000 and 80,000 meteorites of 10 grams or more, which strike earth.

Well, our own Earth is its closest neighbour. After that it is Venus (when at its closest approach). Perhaps you meant "next to" as in nearest in the sky when we look at the Moon. That is changing all the time of course.
The Sun, which is a fairly ordinary star, is the closest star to Earth. I presume that's not what you meant. The next closest is Proxima Centauri, a dwarf star 4.2 light years from our system, and its much brighter companion Alpha Centauri is next closest.
The Next Hit was created in 2008.
No, the world will not end next month. The fact that an asteroid will hit the Earth is just a (false) rumor.
