NOT Sprint!
Probably, it depends on where your phone is actually from because the frequencies may not be the same. However, Sprint is a major US cellular carrier and it is likely that your phone will work fine.
There are eighty- three US Sprint store locations in Houston. These US Sprint stores sell, and service cell phones, batteries, cell phone protectors, attachments and other useful tools for cell phone use.
Sprint cell numbers are sprinkled randomly in almost every US area code.

Since 7/15/03, US Cellular will NOT activate a phone unless it is US Cellular-sourced. That merely means that it was originally sold by US Cellular or an authorized agent. It does NOT mean you have to buy the phone from a US Cellular store. You CAN buy a phone from a friend, eBay, or wherever, but it MUST be US Cellular-branded. Also, phones can be direct-purchased from some manufacturer's, most notably Motorola. They will ask you who you're carrier is, and ship the phone US Cellular-branded. These phones can be activated.
The most affordable US Sprint cell phone plan is the pay as you go. This is the most affordable because it means a light user is not paying for time they are not going to use and still has the cell phone access they need,
You must go to Sprint's website and do it there or you must go to the store you received the contract and the phone at and pay it there. For more information about paying your Sprint phone bill go to this website provided below. http://search.sprint.com/inquiraapp/ui.jsp?ui_mode=question&charset=iso-8859-1&language=en-US&user.status=prospect&user.site=UHP&question_box=pay+my+phone+bill&x=34&y=10
Verizon used to carry it, but i believe that Sprint does now.
There are several phone plants for students available at Sprint. One can choose a 2 year contract and Individual plan or Family plan. Also one can choose to use a prepaid plan with no contract.
No sadly I've tried and they won't let you, even if it's a sprint phone.
