The muscles do not have enough oxygen for aerobic respiration.
Cigarette's, damaged cookers, recked microwaves and in some alcohol. It's one of the gases that are released when anything burns. It becomes dangerous when the source of the burning isn't vented properly and the carbon monoxide builds up in an enclosed place.

Lactic acid will build up. That causes a burning sensation.
lactate
protein builds muscle
lactic acid is built up in athlete quickly because when you exercise in a short or long length of time lacid acid builds to help you realise carbon dioxide from your body. but this will result in having cramps.
Depends on how you mean, sprinting is a form of anaerobic respiration (where no oxygen is actually needed), however lactate builds up as a result meaning you will have to stop after a short period of time. However you will still be breathing to repay the oxygen debt that's built up, to counteract the buildup of lactate (which is toxic to the body in most cirumstances).
