It is said to be caused by a mosquito because water mosquitos are on water, and water can carry many deseases such as worms in the stomach, when a water mosquito is infected and bite a human the desease is then formed into malaria.

Malaria is caused by the parasitic protist. Every year almost 500 million persons are affected by malarial fever and about one million persons are dead yearly due to malarial fever. Incidently malaria has evolved from algae probably. You must say thanks to rest of the plant kingdom for not attacking the humans.
