When you choose the option "hide when minimized".
Right click the taskbar, click properties, uncheck auto-hide.
Right click on your windows taskbar, go to properties, under the taskbar properties you will get the taskbar appearance pane in which you check the Auto hide the taskbar option and your taskbar will get disappear.... whenever you need it just hover you mouse to the bottom of your desktop it will reappear....
It is a flaw within the operating system, silly but still not resolved.
It's called the 'reduce down' button - or 'minimise' button. It's shown as a small button with a horizontal line on it.
The task-bar could disappear if you used F11. It is a shortcut key for making Chrome go full screen.
You can always push the start button in your keyboard.

on the taskbar right click on it and select lock the taskbar and when you do it again it should be checkmarked
The Taskbar can be increased in size by clicking and dragging the edge of the Taskbar upward. To do this, first ensure that the Taskbar is unlocked by right-clicking on an empty space on the Taskbar and unchecking "Lock the Taskbar." Once unlocked, place your cursor on the edge of the Taskbar until it changes to a resize arrow, then click and drag to the desired height. Finally, you can lock the Taskbar again to prevent further changes.
To unpin an item from your taskbar, right-click on the application icon you want to remove. From the context menu that appears, select "Unpin from taskbar." The icon will then be removed from the taskbar.
