That's called the process of absorption. The biological processes that allow absorption are diffusion and osmosis.

It contains nutrients by the food particle. It stores nutrients and then it move onward to the digestive system. It contains nutrients by the food particle. It stores nutrients and then it move onward to the digestive system. ADDED: A single-celled organism, such as an amoeba, cannot be said to have a digestive "system", but still digests its food by breaking it down chemically.
Diffusion
As our body works now, we would surely die without our digestive system! It is through our digestive system that we get the nutrients for all of the basic functions of our body. Without these nutrients would not be able to grow, move, repair damaged tissue or even breathe! However, I'd like to think humans could evolve some other way to get energy and nutrients to grow.... Maybe photosynthesis?? :)
The digestive system has smooth muscle through out it, and they help move the food.
Digestive
Heart, because it pumps blood that contains Oxygen and nutrients to the body.
No absorbtion is when the vitimins and minerals from your food are absorbed (move through the Partially permiable membrane which is your get wall) into you blood steam. This is how your body gets the nutrients from your food. Food is moved through your digestive system by your gut pushing it along. Hope this helps!
The digestive system comprises of organs that work together in order to ensure that food is properly processed through the body. Examples of such organs include the stomach and the intestines.
