When tectonic plates collide with oceanic plates, the denser oceanic plate is usually forced beneath the less dense continental plate in a process called subduction. This can lead to the formation of volcanic arcs and deep ocean trenches. The collision can also cause earthquakes and crustal deformation.
B- Island arcs. When oceanic plates collide, the denser plate is forced beneath the other in a process called subduction. As the sinking plate melts in the mantle, magma rises to form volcanic island arcs where eruptions occur.
When oceanic plates collide and slide under continental plates, they can form volcanic mountain ranges called continental volcanic arcs. These arcs result from the melting of the descending oceanic plate, which then feeds magma to the Earth's surface. Examples include the Andes in South America and the Cascades in North America.
Two landforms created by oceanic-oceanic crust interactions are oceanic ridges and volcanic islands. Oceanic ridges form at divergent plate boundaries where two oceanic plates move apart and magma rises to create new crust. Volcanic islands, on the other hand, form where two oceanic plates converge and one plate subducts beneath the other, leading to volcanic activity and the formation of islands.
