The alveoli, little air sacs at the tips of your lungs, are built like tiny, stretchy balloons. As you breathe in, your alveoli help you absorb oxygen into your body, and as you breathe out, alveoli help get rid of the waste gas carbon dioxide. (Carbon dioxide is a harmful gas that's also found in car exhaust fumes.) Smoke damages you lungs so much that your alveoli become less stretchy. This means it's harder for your lungs to take in the oxygen you need and harder to get rid of carbon dioxide. When the alveoli are damaged like this, you can feel short of breath and tired. Your heart has to pump much harder to give your body the oxygen it needs. Over time, this damage can lead to COPD and heart disease.
aking a couple hits every now and then will not really damage your athletic ability if you maintain your self control.
you are an athlete, which means that you generally stay in great shape, eat healthy meals, and drink a lot of water. Weed only lasts in your system anywhere from 3 to 30 days, and these are the factors that count in that setting.
if you remain healthy and athletic, a session of smoking, let's say once a month, will not really show much significance.
Be responsible and keep active.
also note that there have been plenty of pot smoking athletes, one example would be the old running back for the Miami dolphins--he smoked, and he was one of their best.
This is quite simple. By smoking, you are damaging your lungs, sometimes beyond repair. You are inhaling toxins that are affecting your body. So, with damaged lungs, you are not able to keep up with people who's lungs are perfectly healthy.
----The smoke from the cigars damage and paralyze the cilliated mucous epithelium, and the respiratory surface, aveoli, is danged, causing insufficient oxygen getting to your body, causing to use anaerobic respiration, using more energy.----
non smoker has healthy lungs. smoke causes lung infections, cancers, and atelectasis which is the collapse of the alveoli.
the results are that smokers can hold their breath longer than nonsmokers since they are used to non oxygen.
Their lungs are furred up with tar.
when running move arms quicker to run a bit faster, start it slow, by taking easy breaths the faster you move the quicker you will breath
Mostly garbage - it refers to non-smokers who breath the exhaled air of smokers. It may be detrimental to some people, but how much is highly variable.
Because the smoker's lungs are smaller than normal person. The lung helps us breath so the smokers need to breath quickly when they walk. Because less of the surface inside a smokers lungs is able to absorb the air that is necessary as result of being covered with tar and other chemicals that are left behind every time smoke is inhaled. Boy I'm glad I gave it up.
when youre out of breath after running, should you bend over with your hands on your knees, or should you raise your arms over your head to help you catch your breath?
>wheezing >some loss of smell >yellowing of the fingernails >shortness of breath
Running
Thru your nose.
Because while sleeping you have to breath with your lungs and they ruin their lungs by smoking. No offense but what kind of question is that?!
You get out of breath quicker because the air gets a lot thinner the higher you go. The highest point where there is no air at all is space.
because smelly breath leads to an increase in methane gas.
