In Windows, Drive C: is the first hard drive.
On the PC compatibles (DOS then Windows, which was a program running under DOS), drive A: was reserved for the first floppy disk drive and B: for the second floppy disk drive. Drive C: was reserved for the first hard drive.
Many computers don't even have floppy drives anymore, but the first hard drive is still labeled C:
Local disk c
Your computer is set up to use drive C as a primary, assuming this is where the Windows folder is located. To save files on another hard drive, click on download and change the download destination, or you can save it to C then move it later.
disk By default, 'C' denotes a partition of your hard disk drive (given that it has been partitioned) in which windows and its associated system files are stored. C is known as the Local Disk Drive.
Both letters are for Hard Disk drive because one hard disc is compartmentalized and these are named C drive, D drive & E Drive etc.
If you don't have a DVD drive then it is th C:// drive and the D:// drive. However, if you do it is only the C:// drive.
The first hard drive in the computer is usually designated is Drive C:.
It is usually designated the C: drive.
The drive that the OS is installed on
Drive A or Drive B as the hard disk was usually Drive C
your drive C:// usually is your hard disk, but d:// is your disk drive (usually). in some cases computers may have more disks (c, d and e drives), in which case the OS disk is probably bigger because your operating system takes up a lot of the space.
A: or B: drive is usually a floppy disk. These are becoming rare. C: drive is usually the main hard disk. D: drive is the second hard disk if any. E: drive is usually an optical or CD or DVD drive F: G: H: etc. drive may be a USB "thumbdrive" or an external disk.
Go to my computer then select the drive where your hard drive is (usually c:) it is usually labeled as something like local disk c: then you are able to view everything saved to your hard drive
