It all depends. If it was minor and your ankle is sore but not hurting, I don't think you would need to wear one. If it is actually painful but not too badly, I would wear a brace if I am going to do something active (sports, jogging, etc), but not while walking around (if you can handle it). I wouldn't wear it while walking around because you need to keep the strength up. If you are having problems walking or bearing weight, I would wear an ankle support and try to get to a doctor. I'm not trying to say tough it out, you just have to figure out where you are
THEY SHOULD NOT BE WORN IN GYM BECAUSE YOU NEED ANKLE SUPPORT. WITH THOSES TYPES OF SHOES YOU CAN EASILY GET HURT.
