When should you start dating again after a break up. The girl I want to ask out also happens to be one of my ex's best friends. How long should you wait?
Your past relationships should not control how your current ones function. While it is important to be considerate of your their feelings, in a middle school/high school relationship, the chances are that it won't affect your ex as strongly as you may fear. If it was a rather clean breakup, without an enormous fight, I would say that 2 weeks or so would be permissible. If, however, this was a messy breakup, then I would suggest giving the girl time to cool off. Asking the friend out too soon is the only thing you need to try and avoid, because the chances are that the friend is hearing an abundance of negative things about you from your ex.
