Typically, employers are only looking at the last five years of employment, and job skills prior to that may be viewed as outdated and inapplicable.

For example, if you worked in the computer programming field for the last five years, but want to get back into the banking business (which you did, let's say 10 years ago).. employers will view your banking experience as though you were a newbie just because so many changes within any industry can occur within 5 years.
