There are a couple of ways to stop breastfeeding a baby. One is by weaning. The goal here is to eliminate the need for breast milk completely. It is recommended that babies remain on breast milk or formula for the first year of life. It may seem like it now, but your baby won't remain on breast milk forever. Be patient, your baby will settle into the new routine eventually. You can use a similar method for switching your baby from formula to whole milk, from warm whole milk to cold whole milk, and from bottle to sippy cup.
