You did not mention if you had a girlfriend, wife or children. If you have a girlfriend without children then you should be true to yourself and move back to New York State. If you are living with your girlfriend and have children then that is a choice you made and you have to take on the responsibility of being a father and not a father who deserts his children so you will have to try and communicate your feelings and let your partner do the same as to why you want to move to New York State and she wants to stay in Dallas. If you are married with children then generally the spouses should communicate and come to some amicable agreement as to whether to stay or go. If you are depressed over staying in Dallas then you may have to either split up from your girlfriend and if there are children involved then you should apply to the courts for joint custody (support your children) and perhaps take them on special holidays and perhaps during their summer vacation. The same applies if you are married. It is obvious you already know you have some responsibility to your mate. If, by chance you are living with your parents then you will have to be faithful to your own feelings and make the move whether you have to go it alone or not.
